In Ukraine, the options for applying for state benefits for families with children via the «Diya» portal are being expanded. This involves two types of payment: maternity benefits for uninsured women and monthly support for parents caring for a child under one year of age. In 2026, the benefit will amount to 7,000 UAH, whilst an increased payment of 10,500 UAH is provided for the care of a child with a disability. In early October, the Ministry of Social Policy, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, launched a pilot scheme for online services to simplify the application process and reduce the number of documents required. Until the full launch of the digital services, citizens can apply for the benefit through the Pension Fund and administrative service centres.

Briefly about the main points

What types of payments can be processed via «Diyu»?»

Online services are being developed for two main types of state support for families with children.

Pregnancy and maternity benefits — 7,000 UAH. This payment is intended for women who are not insured under the compulsory state social insurance scheme. This may include female students, unemployed women and other women who meet the legal criteria.

The amount is 7,000 UAH per month for the specified period of pregnancy and childbirth. The benefit usually covers 70 calendar days before the birth and 56 days afterwards. In the event of a complicated delivery or the birth of multiple children, the postnatal period may be longer.

For officially employed, insured women, a different mechanism for calculating benefits applies, based on their wages.

Childcare allowance for children under one year of age — 7,000 UAH. This may be claimed by the mother or another legal guardian who is actually looking after the child.

In case of childcare For children with disabilities, the amount increases to 10,500 UAH per month. This benefit is granted for each child in accordance with the established rules.

The childcare allowance begins once the period of maternity leave has ended and continues until the child reaches the age of one.

How to apply for child benefit online

The «Diya» portal already has dedicated pages for testing new services. For beta test participants, the procedure involves logging in, completing an online application and verifying their details via government registers.

You may need to provide your passport details, tax registration number, a medical certificate confirming your pregnancy and childbirth, information about the child and the relevant bank account details.

You can check the availability of services directly on the official portal:

Support during a child’s first year

7,000 or 10,500 UAH per month

Pregnancy and maternity benefits

7,000 UAH per month for uninsured women

As of the time of this check, registration for the trial is available on these pages. Once the online application process is fully operational, users will be able to submit applications directly via the relevant services.

Who can take part in testing the new services?

According to the «Diya» portal, adult, uninsured women who have the relevant medical certificate and have not previously claimed benefits under it may register to test the pregnancy and maternity benefits scheme.

Specific conditions apply to the trial scheme for childcare allowances. In particular, the child must be aged up to one year and seven months at the time of application.

This is an important point to note for parents whose children have already reached the age of one.

Under the rules governing the assessment, subject to certain conditions, benefits may be claimed for a past period starting from 1 January 2026, but not before the entitlement to payment arises.

However, the extension of the application period does not mean that the state will pay the monthly allowance for up to one year and seven months. The standard payment period ends when the child reaches the age of one.

How the automatic document verification system will work

The Ministry of Social Policy has announced that «Dія» will be integrated with the Unified Information System for the Social Sector.

It is envisaged that the system will obtain most of the necessary information automatically from government registers. This will reduce the number of documents that applicants are required to submit themselves.

Based on the results of the check, the electronic system will generate a draft decision on whether to grant or refuse the benefit. The final decision will be reviewed by a member of staff at the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

According to a government statement, the Pension Fund is required to process the application within three working days.

Where can I apply for benefits if the service is not available on «Diia»?

Whilst the online services are being tested, families are still able to apply for state support.

Applications for the relevant types of assistance can be submitted via the service centres of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the Centres for Administrative Services (CNAPs) or authorised representatives of local authorities.

Bank accounts have been set up to receive the funds, including a special «Child Care» account under the «Dія.Kartka» scheme for the relevant targeted payments.

From August 2026, you will be able to open such an account through partner banks, including PrivatBank, monobank, A-Bank, Sense Bank and Bank Credit Dnipro.

It is important not to confuse the ability to receive money onto the «Diya.Card» with the ability to submit an application online. These are two separate functions.

What other payments are planned for families in 2026?

In addition to support for pregnancy and infant care, Ukraine has an updated family support system in place.

In particular, for children born on or after 1 January 2026, a one-off childbirth grant of 50,000 UAH is provided.

There is also the «eYasla» scheme, under which parents or other legal guardians who return to full-time work once their child has reached the age of one can receive 8,000 UAH per month.

Under the «eYasla» programme, the monthly allowance for caring for a child with a disability is 12,000 UAH.

These payments have specific conditions for their provision and are not included in the two services for which testing began on 5 October.

Consequently, applying for benefits via «Diy» should make it easier for parents to access state funding. At the same time, the amounts of the payments are already set by law, and the launch of these digital services does not mean the introduction of a new benefit or the automatic allocation of funds to all users.
