How the funding mechanism works

The programme is a two-year pilot project. The National Development Agency is involved in it as financial institution second-tier: it does not lend to borrowers directly, but involves partner banks in the selection and financing of projects.

Initially, the support covered gas turbine and gas piston plants, including cogeneration plants, renewable energy generation from biomass, biogas and geothermal energy, energy storage systems and local off-grid power systems.

Which courses have been added following the programme update?

Following the September update, the scheme was extended to include the restoration of damaged facilities and the improvement of their structural integrity. The measures envisaged include the construction of underground storage tanks and the burial of process equipment.

Funding may also relate to fuel and warehousing logistics, the processing industry and the replenishment of stock.
