
The Rada instructed the Committee to consider the resolution dismissing the Head of the Antimonopoly Committee Kirilenko
The Verkhovna Rada voted to to instruct the relevant Committee on Economic Development to consider the resolution on the dismissal of Pavlo Kyrylenko, the head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU).
The decision was approved by a majority vote.
What this decision means
Sending a resolution to the Committee means procedural stage, which launches:
analysis of the grounds for dismissal,
preparation of the Committee's opinion,
further consideration of the document at the plenary session.
Following the Committee's opinion, the Parliament may vote on dismissal or rejection of the resolution.
Context.
Pavlo Kyrylenko has been heading the Antimonopoly Committee since 2024. Over the past year, the AMCU has been in the spotlight due to:
investigations in the energy sector,
inspections of large companies,
a number of high-profile allegations of abuse of dominance.
The grounds for the dismissal initiative have not yet been officially announced.
