Hamas announces to the US that the Gaza ceasefire agreement is terminated
Hamas has officially notified the United States of termination of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. According to sources in the group's leadership, «The deal is over, and Hamas is ready to fight».
The decision was a reaction to a recent Israeli air strike that killed a senior Hamas commander. Representatives of the group said that the strike was violation of the terms of the ceasefire, and therefore the agreement is no longer valid.
