Russia attacked Ukraine with 162 attack drones overnight: Air defence shoots down 125 UAVs - Air Force
On the night of 24 November, Russia carried out massive attack, by launching the following in Ukraine 162 attack drones like Shahed, Gerbera and other modifications.
This was reported in the Air Force of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian air defence system repelled the attack with engagement:
aviation,
anti-aircraft missile troops,
electronic warfare units,
groups of unmanned systems,
mobile firing groups of the Defence Forces.
According to preliminary data on 09:00 am, Ukrainian air defence shot down or suppressed 125 enemy drones.
Consequences of the attack
Despite the effective work of air defence, 37 attack drones hit targets у 15 different locations, and a fall of debris was recorded on one of them.
Most of the losses and damage were caused in the regions:
Kharkiv region,
Chernihiv region,
Dnipro region.
In a number of settlements, private houses, civilian infrastructure and outbuildings were damaged. In Kharkiv, the following have been confirmed civilians killed and injured.
Context.
This is one of Russia's largest recent waves of drone attacks. The Ukrainian military notes that the enemy is actively using simultaneous mass launches to overload air defence systems and increase the chances of individual drones breaking through to targets.
The Defence Forces continue to build up their UAV countermeasures capabilities, including through mobile teams, electronic warfare assets and increased air cover.
