The Verkhovna Rada has increased payments to MPs to UAH 200,000 per month

The Verkhovna Rada supported the decision to increase monthly payments to MPs for working with voters and maintaining MPs' offices.

From now on, each MP will receive UAH 200,000 per month, that on UAH 120,000 more, than before.

The funds are intended for holding meetings, paying for utilities at the reception offices, hiring assistants and organising work in the constituencies.

Context.

The increase in MPs' salaries came against the backdrop of the fact that the budget did not provide for an increase in the salaries of military personnel, The government explains that there are «no resources».

This decision sparked a debate in society, as the issue of supporting the military at the front remains one of the most sensitive.
