In the capital's neighbourhood Troyeschina deployed two tent camps For the remaining residents without electricity and heating as a result of Russian shelling.

On site was Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko, who said that the decision was made after a detailed analysis of the situation in Kyiv together with SES and local authorities.

What we know

According to the minister, in this neighbourhood:

  • about 20 multi-storey buildings;

  • reside 12 to 14 thousand residents.

In one tent city, there are six tents, each calculated on average for up to 40 people. If the situation worsens, the tents can accommodate hundreds of people.

Conditions for residents

In the tents, people are able to:

  • keep warm;

  • recharge mobile devices;

  • take a break in a safe environment.

The work of rescuers

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the following are currently involved in Kyiv about 600 rescuers, that work in shifts and continuously, and performing:

  • clearing the rubble after shelling;

  • emergency rescue operations in difficult and dangerous conditions.

Security.

The neighbourhood also includes Increased presence of law enforcement agencies to ensure public order and safety of residents.

Tent cities will be open for business until electricity and heat supply is fully restored.
