An 11-year-old girl has died in Zaporizhzhia under the rubble of a building destroyed by Russian shelling. This was reported on the morning of 20 July by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration. According to him, the death toll from the attack has risen to three; a further 41 people were injured.

The search through the rubble ended tragically

The aftermath of the attack on 19 July
Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia guided aerial bombs on the evening of 19 July. At 17:24, the head of the Regional Military Administration warned of the threat of guided aerial bombs being used, and 15 minutes later reported strikes on a residential area.
The attack targeted at least four locations. The air strike destroyed two floors of a five-storey residential block. A nine-storey building and some private homes were also damaged, and a fire broke out at a logistics operator’s terminal.
On the evening of 19 July, the emergency services and the police reported 42 people injured, including eight children. These figures were followed by a morning update from the Regional Military Administration, which put the number at 41 injured and three dead.
The police have launched an investigation
The police have launched criminal proceedings under the section of the law concerning violations of the laws and customs of war. Rescue workers, law enforcement officers and psychologists from the State Emergency Service were working at the sites of the strikes.
Psychological support was provided to 41 people, including 11 children. This is a separate figure and is not the same as the number of wounded.
Another attack on the morning of 20 July
This morning, Russian troops once again attacked Zaporizhzhia. The strike hit a holiday home cooperative, where houses caught fire; two people sought medical attention.
The attack on 19 July took place a few days after another strike by KABs on residential areas of the city on 16 July. According to the police, three people were killed on that occasion. This series of attacks means that the danger to the residents of Zaporizhzhia remains.
