The Ukrainian «Ai-Petri» electronic warfare system was unveiled for the first time at the MSPO-2026 international defence technology exhibition in Poland. According to the «Oboronka» project, the system, manufactured by Storkway, detects and jammers drone control signals and, according to the developer, can interfere with guided aerial bombs. Tactical versions of the system will be supplied to the military from 2024.

Detection of signals and suppression of airborne threats
According to the manufacturer, «Ai-Petri»It operates in the 300 to 6,000 MHz band. The system features full rotation: a single logarithmic antenna covers approximately 45 degrees, whilst the system provides a circular survey.".
Depending on the terrain, the system is capable of detecting targets at a range of 20–30 km. The developer claims that the system can counter a wide range of drones — from FPV for reconnaissance and strike UAVs — and to control guided aerial bombs.
According to a Storkway spokesperson, the military is providing feedback on new attack methods, and the development team is creating new suppression profiles for the system.
Fixed and mobile configurations of the system
«Ai-Petri» is available in both a fixed and a mobile version. The mobile unit is transported in a pick-up truck; two crew members can set it up in around 10 minutes.
The system comprises a rotating platform equipped with jamming modules, detection antennas and a radar that tracks the radio frequencies of approaching drones. In detection mode, the system consumes 250 W, and during jamming, up to 2,000 W.
From development in 2014 to delivery to the armed forces
Development of «Ai-Petri» began in 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea. The name was chosen in honour of Mount Ai-Petri on the peninsula. These tactical systems have been supplied to the front line since 2024; in particular, they are used by the 12th Special Purpose Centre.
Storkway reports that around 400 systems have been delivered, which are now operational across the entire front line. Among the units that received the systems are the 112th Territorial Defence Brigade and the 414th Regiment «The Birds of Magyar» and other units of the Defence Forces.
The development and production of «Ai-Petri» for the Armed Forces of Ukraine were made possible by an investment of over 200 million hryvnias from the Petro Poroshenko Charitable Foundation. Poroshenko has been regularly handing over the systems to the military since 2024.
Integration with radar systems and infrastructure protection plans
The system has been authorised for operational use by the Ukrainian Defence Forces. Software has been developed for it based on the «Lira» situational awareness system, which is capable of collecting data from other radars and creating a unified coverage area for the detection and interception of airborne threats.
A Storkway representative announced the possibility of direct communication with Robin and Saab Giraffe radars via «Lira». The manufacturer also states that its largest customer is the Ministry of Defence of one of its partner countries, and that the value of these purchases runs into tens of millions of euros.
In future, «Ai-Petri» is set to be deployed to protect critical infrastructure, ports and railway facilities. Consideration is also being given to integrating the system onto a ground-based robotic platform to enhance its mobility.
