Electric transport in Kyiv came to a standstill due to a power cut
According to a statement from the municipal enterprise «Kyivpastrans», on the morning of 2 November public transport services have been temporarily suspended in several parts of the capital. In particular, the restrictions affected the Borshchahivska high-speed tram line.
Due to a power cut, traffic also came to a standstill on Vidradnyi and Beresteiskyi Avenues, as well as on Garmatna, Vadym Hetman, Olena Teliga, Danylo Shcherbakivskyi, Volodymyrska, Sviatoshynska and Stetsenko Streets, as well as near the «Shulyavska» metro station.
Disruptions to public transport services are leading to crowds gathering at stops. Passengers are advised to allow for possible delays and to check for any up-to-date changes to routes before travelling.
DTEK has announced emergency power cuts
DTEK has confirmed that emergency power cuts are being implemented in Kyiv. During such restrictions, the usual schedules do not apply, and the electricity supply may be cut off without warning.
Power companies are working to restore the electricity supply. The exact time when the power will be back on depends on the condition of the power lines and the situation within the electricity grid.
The power cuts also affect the Kyiv region, where schedules for hourly restrictions had previously been published for 2 November. Should emergency measures be implemented, the actual duration of the power cuts may differ from that planned.
Ukrenergo has warned of restrictions in regions across Ukraine
According to NEC «Ukrenergo», hourly power cuts of between 1.5 and 2.5 stages are scheduled for 2 November in some regions of Ukraine. The restrictions are scheduled to take place from 06:00 to 23:59.
During this same period, power restriction schedules will be in place for industrial enterprises.
The reason remains damage to energy infrastructure as a result of intensive Russian attacks. Ukrenergo has warned that the situation may change over the course of the day, so consumers should check the information on the official websites of their regional electricity distribution companies.
