The SBU’s counter-intelligence unit has detained a local woman in Dnipro who is suspected of gathering intelligence for a new series of Russian missile and drone attacks. According to the case file, she was tasked with coordinating strikes on administrative buildings of state institutions in the city centre. The woman has been informed of the charges against her and is being held in custody without the right to bail.

Investigators have established that a local unemployed woman came to the attention of the Russian security services via Telegram channels, where she was looking for «quick» money. According to the agency, she would walk the city’s streets, covertly identified potential targets on her mobile phone and sent the information she had gathered to a supervisor in Russia.
Suspicion and subsequent investigation
According to the SBU, the suspect used an anonymous chat feature in a messaging app to conceal her contacts and deleted her chat history after each conversation. Special service officers documented her actions and arrested her at her home. During a search, they seized a smartphone which, according to the SBU, contains evidence of espionage and subversive activities in the interests of the aggressor state.
The detainee was informed that she was suspected of Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code — the unauthorised disclosure of information concerning the movements, deployment or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine whilst martial law is in force. The penalty for this offence is imprisonment for a term of between eight and twelve years.
The suspect is being held in custody without the right to bail. Investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the case and examining the grounds for a possible additional classification of her actions as treason committed under martial law. The operations were carried out by officers of the SBU’s Main Directorate in the Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office.
