Reports that the price of diesel fuel at certain WOG petrol stations had risen to between 101.90 and 103.90 UAH per litre were incorrect. The company explained that a technical glitch occurred on 20 September, causing some stations to display an inflated price. The actual price of diesel across the network was no more than 99.90 UAH per litre. WOG has promised to reimburse the difference to customers who had already filled up at the higher price.
• WOG stated that the price of diesel across its network had not risen by more than 100 UAH per litre.
• The prices of 101.90–103.90 UAH/l on 20 September were the result of a technical glitch.
• The actual price of diesel fuel was up to 99.90 UAH per litre.
• Those who have already filled up at an inflated price will be compensated for the difference with WOG PRIDE bonuses.
• At the same time, the Ukrainian diesel market as a whole remains under pressure from high European prices.
WOG has explained why the price has risen above 100 UAH
The WOG petrol station chain has officially commented on reports that the price of diesel fuel has risen above the psychological threshold 100 UAH per litre.
The company reported that on 20 September, an incident occurred technical fault, due to which information on the price of Euro-5 diesel and Mustang diesel at certain petrol stations was displayed incorrectly.
«Due to a technical glitch, the information regarding the price change as at 20 September 2026 for EURO 5 and Mustang diesel at WOG petrol stations was incorrect and was listed as more than 99.90 UAH/l,» — according to the company’s official statement.
Thus, the figures 101.90 UAH/l for standard diesel and 103.90 UAH/l for Mustang+, …which may have been displayed on 20 September, did not constitute an actual increase in the chain’s prices.
Customers will be reimbursed for the difference
WOG has also issued a statement to drivers who may have purchased fuel at an incorrectly inflated price.
The company asks these customers to contact the Support Centre WOG by number 0 800 300 525 and submit your application.
The chain promises to refund the difference between the price actually paid and the correct price reward customers with WOG PRIDE loyalty scheme bonuses.
The price of diesel at WOG remained at 99.90 UAH
Market monitoring data also supports the company’s position.
According to information from the «A-95» Consulting Group, as cited by Enkorr, as at On 21 September, diesel fuel at WOG cost 99.90 UAH per litre. The OKKO network had the same level.
At the same time, other operators on the Ukrainian market have already passed the 100 UAH mark. As early as 18 September, Neftek set the price of standard diesel at 100 UAH/l, and on 21 September, SOCAR raised its price to 103 UAH/l.
In other words, three-figure prices for diesel in Ukraine have already become a reality, but As of those dates, WOG had not switched to them.
The fuel market remains under pressure
Despite a technical error on the part of WOG, the general trend towards rising diesel prices continues.
In mid-September, European diesel prices reached new record highs. This quickly had an impact on the Ukrainian market, which is largely dependent on imports.
According to «A-95», on 15 September the average price of diesel in Ukraine was already 97.06 UAH/l, and on 16 September — 97.91 UAH/l. In the major chains, prices were approaching 100 UAH.
Therefore, the risk of further price fluctuations in the market remains, although specific data relating to WOG should be viewed separately from the overall situation.
