As part of the reform of the territorial recruitment centres, the structure is being considered for renaming to the «Reserve Office». This was announced on 24 April by MP Roman Kostenko. The final version of the changes has not yet been approved.
TCCs can become a «Reserve Office»
Pros. in words Roman Kostenko, As part of the reform of the TCC, the option of renaming these structures to the «Reserve Office» is being considered. This should emphasise the new approach to the organisation of mobilisation and manning of the Armed Forces.
The changes are aimed at increasing efficiency and adapting processes to modern defence requirements. No official decision on the renaming has been made yet.
Mobilisation functions remain with the TCC
The idea of transferring mobilisation functions to the police was considered, but this initiative was not supported. Kostenko clarified that responsibility for mobilisation would remain with the structure that currently performs these tasks.
The refusal to transfer police functions is related to the need to maintain a clear structure and division of powers in the security and defence sector.
The final version of the reform has not yet been approved
Document on reforms of the TCC is currently being finalised by the Ministry of Defence. The final text of the amendments has not yet been approved by either the government or the parliament.
The reform envisages changes in the approaches to staffing and organising the work of the centres, but specific details will be revealed after the document is officially approved.
