116 clashes per day: Russian Federation bombarded the frontline with CABs and drones

Ukrainian forces are repelling massive attacks by Russian troops on several fronts. The enemy is actively using aviation, kamikaze drones and artillery.

As of 22:00 on 2 May 2026, the situation at the front remains tense. Over the last day, 116 combat engagements were recorded, and the enemy carried out massive shelling and attacks in key areas. Ukrainian troops are holding the line, inflicting losses on the enemy.

Scale of hostilities on 2 May

According to the operational information, Over the past 24 hours, 116 combat engagements took place between Ukrainian defenders and Russian troops on the frontline. The enemy carried out 47 air strikes, during which 151 guided aerial bombs were dropped. In addition, Russian troops used 5,360 kamikaze drones and fired 2,266 times at Ukrainian settlements and positions.

On the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions 82 attacks were registered today, including two from multiple rocket launchers and two enemy assault actions. In the South Slobozhansky sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian troops' positions five times in the areas of Starytsia, Lyman, Izbytske and Okhrimivka.

Enemy losses and activity in the sectors

In the Kupyansk direction Russian troops attacked towards Novoplatonivka. On the Liman direction Ukrainian troops repelled five attacks near Droysheve and Lyman. In the Sloviansk sector, two attacks were registered in the vicinity of Zakitne and Rai Oleksandrivka.

Kramatorsk direction was the scene of two attacks towards Malynivka and Bondarne. In the Kostyantynivka sector, the occupants conducted 16 attacks in the areas of Kostyantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiyivka and Zolotyi Kolodyazh, three of which are ongoing. In the Pokrovske direction 24 attacks took place, the enemy tried to advance towards Bilytske, Novyi Shakhove, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Udachne, Pokrovsk, Kotlynove, Muravka and Molodetske.

Enemy losses and actions of Ukrainian troops

According to preliminary data, in the Pokrovske direction 54 occupants have been eliminated and 24 more wounded. 11 vehicles and an enemy artillery system were destroyed, five vehicles, 90 enemy shelters and three artillery systems were damaged. In addition, 239 drones of various types were destroyed or suppressed.

In the Oleksandrivske direction the occupiers attacked four times towards Oleksandrograd, Zlahoda and Ternove. On the Gulyaypil direction 14 attacks were recorded in the areas of Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Svyatopetrivka, Staroukrainka, Charyve, Hirky, Tsvitkove, Myrne and Varvarovka, and one attack is ongoing. In the Orikhivsk sector, the enemy attacked twice in the areas of Stepove and Prymorske, on the Dnipro direction - three attacks towards Antonivka. No significant changes were recorded in other areas.

Why it matters

Operational situation at the front indicates the continued high intensity of hostilities and attempts by Russian troops to break through the defences of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The massive use of aviation, kamikaze drones and artillery poses additional threats to civilians and infrastructure.

At the same time, Ukrainian forces have demonstrated resilience, repelling attacks in key areas and inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Maintaining control over positions and effectively countering Russian offensives are critical to stability on the front line.
