Reports are emerging from the temporarily occupied city of Yalta of an attack by maritime drones on port infrastructure. Following the explosions, several plumes of thick black smoke rose above the coastal part of the city. According to preliminary reports from local TV channels, the Russian authorities have begun evacuating people from the seafront. Access to certain areas near the port may have been temporarily restricted.

Photographs released by eyewitnesses show thick smoke rising above the buildings near the coast and the waters of Yalta harbour. It is not possible to determine the exact location of the fire from the photographs.
Local residents are reporting explosions and Russian military activity near the coast. However, there is no confirmed information regarding the number of maritime drones, the effectiveness of the attack or the operation of Russian air defences.
At the time of publication, the occupying administration had not issued a report on the incident. The Ukrainian military command has also not officially confirmed any involvement in the attack.
People are being evacuated from the promenade
According to initial reports, visitors and staff are being evacuated from the waterfront as a matter of urgency. These measures may be linked both to the risk of further explosions and to the possible appearance of new maritime drones in the waters.
There is currently no information on any casualties. It is also unknown whether any vessels, quays or other port infrastructure have been damaged.
