The Russian invaders’ military logistics in Crimea are facing serious difficulties. The occupiers have started to guard fuel convoys with machine-gun crews due to constant attacks by Ukrainian drones.

Briefly about the main points
  • The occupiers are escorting the petrol tankers with armed groups.
  • The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed that railway bridges in Crimea have been hit.
  • Passenger rail services have been suspended; trains are running only as far as Kerch.
  • Queues of hundreds of cars have formed at the exit from Crimea.

A logistical nightmare: the occupiers are driving petrol tankers under escort

The situation regarding fuel supplies for Russian troops in Crimea has reached a critical point. Local residents report that fuel convoys are being escorted by armed mobile units in pick-up trucks and lorries. This indicates panic amongst the occupiers, who fear attacks by Ukrainian drones.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed damage to strategic railway bridges in the Vladislavivka and Rozdolne areas. These facilities played a key role in the transport of heavy equipment and ammunition. Following the attacks on the bridges, the occupying railway company suspended suburban and passenger train services, citing “technical reasons”. As a result, it is now only possible to travel by train from Russian territory as far as Kerch.

At the same time, queues of hundreds of cars have formed at the exit from Crimea. Ukraine’s military leadership had previously emphasised that the destruction of the enemy’s logistics is part of isolation strategies military installations on the peninsula. The occupying forces are trying to protect their fuel convoys, but the situation remains tense.

“The systematic destruction of the enemy’s supply lines is a step towards complete isolation,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated.

The military operations carried out by Ukrainian forces show that Crimea is gradually being turned into an island cut off from supplies. This is causing panic amongst Russian colonists and local collaborators, who realise that their safety is under serious threat.
