A series of powerful explosions rocked Odesa, and air defence forces were deployed. The Odesa Regional Military Administration confirmed damage to one of the region’s infrastructure facilities; information regarding possible casualties and the full extent of the damage is currently being ascertained.

During the second air-raid alert, residents of Odesa heard explosions on several occasions. The regional military administration urged people to remain in shelters and reported that air defence forces were in action.
Monitoring sources detected several consecutive missile targets heading towards the city. According to their preliminary assessment, Russia may have deployed around ten missiles and «Banderole»-type munitions during the daytime wave. These figures are not definitive: at the time of publication, the Air Force had not released a report on the number of munitions used.
Since the start of the night, the number of launches towards the Odesa region may have approached 30, according to preliminary estimates by monitoring channels. There is currently no official confirmation of this estimate.
Overnight shelling damaged power infrastructure, port facilities and residential buildings
Massed an attack on the Odesa region began during the night. Russian forces deployed ballistic, anti-ship and anti-radar missiles, including Iskander-M/S-400, Onyx and Kh-31P missiles, whilst simultaneously attacking Ukraine with a large number of drones. The main focus of the night-time attack was the Odesa region.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia had deliberately targeted the region’s energy infrastructure. Port facilities were also damaged as a result of the strikes. DTEK recorded damage to energy facilities in the Odesa district.
At least eight people have been injured in Odessa. Some residential buildings in the city have been partially destroyed, and cars have been damaged or burnt out.
Power companies are restoring the grid; the full extent of the damage caused by today’s attack is still being assessed
Overnight shelling left some consumers and critical infrastructure facilities without electricity, particularly in three districts of Odesa. By 11.22, power engineers had restored electricity to around 90,000 customers, but emergency repair work was still ongoing.
This second strike is placing an additional burden on the teams working to repair the damaged networks. Full details of the strikes, the consequences of today’s attack and the weapons used by Russia are expected once the air raid alert has ended and the Air Force has issued its reports.
