Specialists of the SBU Alpha Special Operations Centre struck the 16th centre of the Russian Federal Security Service in Krasnodar region, which was engaged in electronic intelligence. The centre was used to target missiles and drones on the territory of Ukraine and intercept signals from satellites. The drone strike significantly weakened the Russian military's ability to control the airspace.

Briefly about the main points
  • The SBU destroyed the 16th RF FSB electronic intelligence centre in Krasnodar region.
  • The centre was used to guide missiles and drones across Ukraine.
  • The drone strike put key facilities of the centre out of action.
  • Defence forces simultaneously attacked Russian targets in different directions.

The defeat of the 16th FSB centre in Krasnodar region

Specialists of the SBU Alpha Special Operations Centre successfully conducted a drone attack on the 16th centre of the Russian Federal Security Service, located in Temryutskyi district of Krasnodar region. This centre was responsible for electronic intelligence, including the targeting of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of Ukraine, as well as intercepting signals from foreign satellites. As a result of the operation, the centre's key facilities were put out of action.

Strategic importance of the transaction

The defeat of this centre is of strategic importance for Ukraine's defence. The destruction of important electronic intelligence control points weakens Russia's ability to control airspace and coordinate air defence. It also makes it more difficult for the enemy to launch missile strikes and protect military facilities in the deep rear. The SBU stressed that this opens up new opportunities for use of Ukrainian drones at the frontline.

Large-scale strikes on Russian targets

In parallel with the operation in Krasnodar region, the Ukrainian Defence Forces on 28 May and on the night of 29 May struck on a number of important Russian targets on the territory of the aggressor country, as well as in Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipro and Sumy regions. These attacks demonstrate a consistent strategy of targeting critical military and logistical facilities of the enemy.

Impact on the further course of hostilities

The destruction of electronic intelligence centres and key air defence facilities reduces the enemy's effectiveness in launching missile and air strikes against Ukraine. It also forces Russia to strengthen security measures and rebuild its command and control systems, which requires additional resources and time. The SBU's successful special operations demonstrate the growing potential of Ukrainian intelligence and special forces in hybrid warfare.
