The Ukrainian Armed Forces have struck the base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s high-speed boats in the Mizhvodne area of occupied Crimea, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. A radar station near Pochep in the Bryansk Oblast of the Russian Federation, targets in Donetsk and the Donetsk Oblast, and the Ryazan Oil Refinery were also struck.

Briefly about the main points

  • A base for the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s high-speed boats has been hit in Crimea.
  • The facility near Mizhvodne provided maintenance and logistical support for the boats.
  • In the Bryansk region, a radar station near Pochep has been hit.
  • In the Donetsk region, a UAV launch site, a depot and a bridge were hit.
  • The General Staff also reported that the Ryazan Oil Refinery had been hit.

Boating infrastructure in the Mizhvodne area

The targeted facility was used for the maintenance and support of high-speed boats deployed by the Russian occupying forces for patrolling, coastal security, logistical support and other tasks.

Damage to support infrastructure could potentially make it more difficult to maintain the pace of boat operations, as such vessels rely on repairs, supplies and crew training.

Strikes against radar systems, UAVs and military logistics

Separately, the General Staff reported that a radar station in the Pochep area of the Bryansk Oblast in Russia had been destroyed.

Ukrainian troops also struck a facility in Donetsk used for the storage, preparation and launch of attack drones, a logistics depot in Portivske, and a road bridge in the Vyselky area of Donetsk Oblast. Russian forces had been using the bridge for military logistics.

The report also mentions the damage to the Ryazan Oil Refinery.

Targets

The combination of targets struck may indicate an attempt to simultaneously disrupt Russian surveillance capabilities, the deployment of attack drones, the support of patrol boats and military logistics.
