The Unity Hub Prague, a centre for Ukrainian unity, was officially opened in Prague on 11 September. It will operate from the premises of the Ukrainian Advisory and Community Centre and will provide Ukrainians with information and advice on their stay in the Czech Republic, integration, voluntary return and reintegration in Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity.

The new hub will operate from the Ukrainian Advisory and Community Centre, which is celebrating its first anniversary. The Prague centre has become the third Centre for Ukrainian Unity in Europe: similar centres were previously opened in Berlin and Stockholm.
A joint declaration on the establishment of a centre in the Czech Republic was signed on 5 May 2025 in Prague during the President’s visit Vladimir Zelensky to the Czech Republic. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ukrainian and Czech authorities, international organisations and the Ukrainian community.
The Czech Republic is one of the EU countries with the largest Ukrainian population
Deputy Minister for Social Policy, Family and Unity Ilona Gavronska She stated that the Czech Republic is one of the top three EU countries with the highest number of Ukrainians under temporary protection. At the same time, the country ranks first in the EU in terms of the number of such people relative to its population.
According to the latest Eurostat figures, around 4.4 million Ukrainians are under temporary protection in EU countries. Nearly 400,000 of them are in the Czech Republic.
The hub will provide advice on life in the Czech Republic and services in Ukraine
Visitors will be able to receive advice and information on matters relating to their stay and integration in the Czech Republic. Separate information will be provided on voluntary return and reintegration in Ukraine.
The centre will also provide information about Ukraine’s public services. These include, in particular, pension matters, military registration and the registration of an electronic signature.
Special Representative for Ukrainians in the EU Ilva Johansson she emphasised that the Centres of Unity and the entire Network of Ukrainian Unity help to build a «human bridge» between Ukraine, the European Union and Ukrainian citizens living abroad.
Working hours and coordination with partners
Unity Hub Prague plans to host informational, cultural and educational events, meetings, networking opportunities and community initiatives. These are intended to maintain links between the Ukrainian community in the Czech Republic and Ukraine.
The centre will be open to visitors from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00, at Rokycanova 707/29, Žižkov, 130 00, Prague. The project is being implemented in partnership with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). The hub will operate in coordination with the National Unity Agency Ltd and will liaise with Ukrainian and Czech partners.
