The operations will target the Russian army’s supply chains
Khmara stated: «Russia will burn. We will destroy its infrastructure, navy, logistics, fuel and energy facilities, and enterprises supporting the war against Ukraine.» This refers to the continuation of systematic operations against facilities that supply Russian troops with fuel, equipment, ammunition and other resources.
Attacks on logistics centres, railway junctions, depots and transport infrastructure may hamper the supply of Russian units. Operations against ships and port facilities used by Russia for military purposes remain a separate area of focus.
The priorities outlined are in line with the Ukrainian authorities’ official stance in 2026. In July, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported strikes on logistics depots containing navigation equipment, drone components and other supplies for the Russian army, as well as an operation targeting Russian military production facilities.
Russia’s energy sector remains one of the areas of long-range operations
Russia’s fuel and energy sector supplies the armed forces with fuel and is one of the sources of funding for the war. Attacks on oil refineries, oil depots and other energy facilities may simultaneously affect both fuel supplies and the Russian Federation’s export capacity.
In its July review, the International Energy Agency reported that the intensification of Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries and export infrastructure had affected refining, the export of petroleum products and domestic fuel supplies in Russia. The scale of the impact depends, in particular, on the extent of the damage, the time taken to carry out repairs and the ability to reroute flows.
