Despite the damage to the building, trains continued to run through the station, whilst railway staff began clearing up the aftermath of the attack.

The façade and upper structures of the building have been damaged

Footage released after the attack shows the station’s façade and glazing partially destroyed. The upper part of the building has been damaged, and debris lies scattered around it.

Pertsovsky reported that railway staff are already dealing with the aftermath of the impact. The full extent of the damage at the station is still being assessed.

A night-time attack affected several districts in the Odesa region

An air raid alert was declared in the Odesa region at 03:26. The Air Force reported groups of drones, including jet-powered ones, moving in from the Black Sea, as well as «Banderole»-type UAVs. At around 03:30, some of the drones were heading towards Odesa and Chornomorsk.

During the attack, the military also detected missiles coming from the direction of the Black Sea and issued warnings of a missile threat to Zatoka, Chornomorsk and Odesa. It has not yet been established exactly what type of weapon was used to damage the railway station in Rozdilna.

Separately, Russian troops attacked port infrastructure in the Izmail district. According to the local military administration, thanks to the air defence system, no damage, fatalities or injuries were reported there.

In August, railway facilities in the Odesa region had already come under attack

The latest strike took place nine days after the attack on a passenger train’s locomotive in the Berezivskyi district. On 13 August, a Russian jet-powered drone struck the locomotive, killing the driver and his assistant.

Later that same day, a Russian drone attacked yet another diesel locomotive, which was carrying out shunting operations. The strike on Rozdilna continued a series of August attacks on railway facilities in the region; restoration work at the station is ongoing.
