On the night of 24 August, the «Madyar Birds» unit of the Unmanned Systems Forces struck 66 targets deep within the enemy’s rear. These included a MiG-29 in Dolotynka, Rostov Oblast; four radar systems; a Special Forces unit in the occupied Kherson region; power stations; and a tanker and a bulk carrier in the Black Sea.
Briefly about the main points
- Overnight, the SBS ‘Birds’ engaged 66 enemy targets.
- A Russian MiG-29 has been shot down in Dolotynka, in the Rostov Region.
- Two «Kasta-2E2»s«, a »Nebo-SV’ and an ST-68 were hit.
- A tanker and a bulk carrier belonging to the Russian Federation’s shadow fleet have been destroyed in the Black Sea.
- A SOBR special forces unit’s facility has been destroyed in Strilkove.
Aerial targets and radars to the south
Two «Kasta-2E2» stations and a «Nebo-SV» radar were located in the Rostov Oblast. The ST-68 radar was hit in Rozdolnoe in occupied Crimea. The «Kasta-2E2» is designed, in particular, to monitor the air situation at low and very low altitudes.
A combination of strikes against radar assets and an aerial target may indicate an attempt to simultaneously impair the detection of air targets and the deployment of Russian aircraft in the southern sector. The actual effect depends on the enemy’s ability to replace or compensate for the assets that have been hit.
Damage in the occupied territories and in the Black Sea
A SOBR special forces facility has been destroyed in Strilkove, in the temporarily occupied Kherson region. A number of power substations in the occupied territories were also hit, whilst 11 enemy power distribution stations were set alight in the Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
A separate report has been issued regarding the operation on the «Novorossiya» motorway. A video of the results of the operation «The Birds of Magyar»They promise to make this public at a later date.".
