Public Broadcasting has confirmed Ukraine’s participation in the 71st Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Bulgaria in 2027. Chernotitsky described taking part in the contest as a way of supporting Ukrainian culture and keeping the Ukrainian context in the spotlight for an international audience. Burgas is to host the song contest for the first time

Eurovision 2027 will take place in the Bulgarian resort town of Burgas at the new «Arena Burgas» sports and entertainment venue. The semi-finals are scheduled for 11 and 13 May, and the grand final for 15 May 2027.

Bulgaria was awarded the right to host the contest for the first time following singer DARA’s victory at Eurovision 2026 in Vienna. Her song «Bangaranga» scored 516 points, securing the country’s first ever victory in the contest’s history.

Ukraine continues its run of finals

Ukraine was represented at Eurovision 2026 by LELÉKA with the song «Ridnym». The singer came ninth, and the Ukrainian entry once again made it through to the grand final.

According to Suspilne, Ukraine has reached the final since making its debut in the contest in 2003. The next step for potential entrants to the new season will be the opening of the application period on 15 September.
