Following a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine on 22 September, four people were killed in Dnipro and a further six were injured. According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivan Vyhovskyi, more than 500 rescue workers and police officers were deployed to deal with the aftermath. In Dnipro, rescue workers are inspecting damaged structures
According to Vygovsky, in Dnipro, strikes hit food warehouses, industrial premises and a furniture workshop. Rescue workers are surveying the ruined buildings and verifying reports of people who may still be trapped under the rubble.
During the night, almost at the same time, there were industrial enterprises that have been attacked in Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and Pavlohrad. According to the State Emergency Service, there were no casualties in Kryvyi Rih and Pavlohrad.
A drone has damaged a five-storey building in Kyiv
In the Dnipro district of Kyiv, a Russian drone damaged a five-storey residential block. A fire broke out in the basement; the ground floor was partially destroyed and the façade was damaged. Fifteen people were evacuated from the building.
The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office has clarified that five people were injured. Three suffered cuts, including a retired couple, whilst two others experienced an acute stress reaction. The blast wave and debris caused damage to neighbouring residential buildings.
Morning fire in the Holosiivskyi district and damage in the regions
This morning, following an attack in an open area in the Holosiivskyi district, pallets of ceramic tiles caught fire. The fire spread over an area of around 100 square metres; there were no fatalities or injuries at this location.
Vygivskyi also reported damage to residential buildings in the Kyiv, Kharkiv and Vinnytsia regions.
The railway was under attack; air defence forces neutralised 186 targets
Throughout the morning, Russian troops attacked Ukraine’s railway infrastructure. Following earlier strikes on railway facilities, damage and power cuts were reported in certain sections, which affected the movement of some passenger trains.
The Air Force stated that Russia had deployed «Onyx» anti-ship missiles, «Iskander-M» ballistic missiles, S-400 and KN-23 systems, four «Kalibr» cruise missiles, eight «Banderol»/«Dan-T», as well as 212 attack and other drones. As of 08:00, air defence forces had shot down or neutralised 186 targets: one «Kalibr» missile, eight «Banderole»/«Dan-T» missiles and 177 drones.
Missile and attack drone strikes were recorded at 22 locations, whilst the fall of downed targets and debris was recorded at a further four. The main targets of the attack were the Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Poltava regions.
