On the night of 24 September, Russian troops once again struck the previously damaged “Nova Linia” shopping centre during a large-scale combined attack on the Odesa region. A major fire broke out at the site. In total, two people were injured as a result of the night-time shelling of the region.

Strike on a shopping centre in the Odesa region
The head of the Odesa Regional State Administration reported that the shopping centre had been damaged again Oleg Kiper. The site had already come under Russian attack previously. According to the emergency services, a major fire broke out there following the latest strike, but it has now been brought under control. The work of the emergency services was hampered by repeated air-raid alerts.
In a message circulating on Telegram, the targeted facility is referred to as a hypermarket «The New Line». The videos that have been released also show the chain’s hypermarket damaged. At the time of writing, no confirmation from the company itself could be found.
What is known about the victims
According to preliminary figures from the regional authorities, as a result of a massive strike two people were injured. This is the total number of casualties in the Odesa region, not confirmed figures for those injured at the shopping centre.
At another address, a fire broke out in a two-storey private house following a direct hit. It was in relation to this location that the emergency services reported two casualties.
There is currently no specific confirmed information regarding any deaths or injuries amongst the hypermarket’s staff.

The night-time attack also affected other civilian targets. According to the Regional Military Administration, a ten-storey non-residential building, the roof of a municipal hospital ward and food warehouses were damaged. The explosions shattered windows in a secondary school and residential buildings, and damaged cars. A fire also broke out in a non-residential high-rise building in Odesa.
In the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, windows were shattered in three private homes. Emergency services were called to several sites where the windows had been shattered.
