Kharkiv Regional The public prosecutor’s office reported that the victims of the attack were a 16-year-old boy, a 19-year-old girl and a 51-year-old woman. According to the head of the Regional State Administration Oleg Sinegubov, 20 people required medical assistance.
Among those injured were two girls aged 8 and 13. The younger child was admitted to hospital with a blast injury, whilst the older one was diagnosed with an acute stress reaction.
Initial reports indicated that six people had been injured. At 21:21, the local publication Status Quo reported 21 casualties, but Sinyegubov’s statement, as quoted by Ukrinform at 21:29, put the figure at 20. The figures are still being clarified.
The fire has been put out; the public prosecutor’s office is investigating the incident
According to the public prosecutor’s office, the strike took place at around 19:25. The missile struck a densely populated residential area, near blocks of flats and food shops.
Spokesperson for the Main Directorate State Emergency Service in the Kharkiv region Yevhen Vasylenko reported that the shop’s structure and parked cars had caught fire. The fire covered an area of approximately 300 square metres. According to the latest update from the Regional Military Administration, the fire brigade had extinguished the blaze.
Law enforcement agencies have launched a pre-trial investigation under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — concerning a war crime. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has also released a video showing the moment of the missile strike.
The media, citing the public prosecutor’s office, reported that, according to preliminary data, Russian troops had used «Parcel». That same evening, an energy facility was also under attack.
