A drone struck a high-rise block in Pechersk
The attack took place at around 8.00 am. According to updated police reports, a Russian UAV struck a 16-storey residential block in the Pechersk district at the level of the 10th–11th floors. Earlier, the mayor Vitali Klitschko reported damage at the 7th to 10th-floor levels.
The State Emergency Service reports that, as a result of the impact, damage has occurred at the level of the 9th–10th floors fire and structural damage. Firefighters put out the fire. During the rescue operation, emergency services rescued seven people and brought them to safety from the damaged building.
Footage released by the State Emergency Service shows shattered windows and damage to the façade of the high-rise building. Rescue workers, paramedics, the police and other municipal services are continuing to work at the scene.
A 14-year-old boy has died
The National Police reported that as a result of being hit by A 14-year-old boy was killed. It is currently known that there are at least seven injured residents building. The number of casualties is being confirmed. Law enforcement officers are working directly at the scene of the blast. Police investigation teams and bomb disposal experts have been deployed to document the damage.
Kyiv was attacked during the night and this morning
Even before this morning’s strike on the Pechersk district, the effects of the Russian attack had been recorded in Solomyanskyi and Podilskyi districts capital.
In the Solomyanskyi district A 25-storey residential block was damaged. A fire also broke out near a non-residential building. In the Podilskyi district, a UAV struck a non-residential building. One person was reported to have been injured.
In the morning, the drone attack on the capital continued, after which it emerged that a residential high-rise in Pechersk had been hit.
Russia has launched 295 drones at Ukraine
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, on the night of 25 September, Russia used 295 drones of various types, in particular Shahed, «Gerbera», «Banderole»/«Dan-T» and «Parody» dummy drones. Among them were 52 jet-powered UAVs.
As at 07:30, air defence forces had shot down or intercepted 267 drones. Strikes were recorded at 16 locations, and debris was found at a further four. At the time of the morning briefing, the Air Force warned that the attack was still ongoing.
