Ukraine has begun automatically extending existing deferrals from mobilisation for 22 categories of citizens. According to the Ministry of Defence, over 90% such deferrals can be renewed without the need to reapply or visit government offices in person. Decisions will be made based on the results of checks against the registers, and users will be able to view the outcome in the «Reserve+» app.
Briefly about the main points
- Automatic renewal applies to 22 categories of citizens.
- More than 90% existing deferrals can be renewed without the need to submit an application.
- Notifications in «Reserve+» will be sent out until 30 October.
- A negative result does not invalidate the right to a deferral.
- You can update your details and reapply online or at the Administrative Services Centre.
The checks will be carried out gradually, and notifications may be sent at different times
Grounds for deferrals The system automatically cross-checks the information against that held in the state registers. The automatic renewal process will continue until 30 October, the Ministry of Defence has announced.
The updates will not be rolled out to all users at the same time. The department explained that the roll-out will continue gradually, so notifications in the «Reserve+.»will arrive at different times.".
Once the check has been completed, you will be able to see in the app whether your status has been updated and until what date the deferral will apply. You should receive a notification regardless of the outcome of the check.
For automatic renewal, the legal basis must be valid and confirmed in the registers
Automatic renewal is possible provided two conditions are met: the grounds for the deferral remain valid, and the necessary details regarding it are contained in the state registers. The existence of the right does not in itself guarantee automatic renewal if the data cannot be verified by the system.
If the deferral has been extended, you should update your electronic military registration document once you have been notified. You should then check the new deferral period stated in the document.
What to do if automatic renewal has not taken place
The absence of an automatic update does not mean that the right to a deferral is lost. One possible reason for this may be missing or out-of-date information in the state registers, which is required to verify the grounds for the deferral.
In such a situation, the Ministry of Defence advises you to check your details and update them if necessary. Once you have updated your details, you can resubmit your application via «Rezerv+», provided that the relevant category is available online. Alternatively, you can visit an administrative services centre with the relevant documents.
At the same time, a deferral granted previously remains valid until the date specified in its term. In other words, a negative result from the automatic check does not terminate it early.
