Queues on the Odesa-Reni highway: traffic is paralysed due to the closure of Orlivka«

On the international highway Odesa-Reni significant queues formed again, hampering traffic towards the borders with Moldova and Romania. The situation worsened in the first half of the day due to the diversion of all traffic after the closure of the checkpoint «Orlovka».

The track is in several sections

The biggest delays are observed at the entrances to settlements along the route. Drivers report slow traffic and many kilometres of congestion in the area of Palanky, Zori, Mayak, Tatarbunary and Throws.

A particularly difficult situation was recorded at the checkpoint «Reni-Dzhurdzhuleshti», where trucks and cars wait in queues for a long time. It is here that all the traffic that used to pass through Orlivka is directed.

Weather conditions made the situation worse

According to local services, traffic is hampered by thick fog, which sharply reduced visibility on the road. Drivers are forced to drive more slowly, which further increases the overall length of congestion.

When to expect traffic relief

Border guards and road services predict that the situation may stabilise only after the Orlivka checkpoint reopens or traffic flows are redistributed between other checkpoints. For now, drivers are advised to take delays into account and plan their route in advance.
