Kropyvnytskyi: SBU detains 16-year-old FSB agent preparing missile attack on CHP plant
The Security Service of Ukraine detained a 16-year-old girl in Kropyvnytskyi who, according to the investigation, helped Russian special services plan a missile attack on a local thermal power plant.
According to the SBU, the minor was acting on the instructions of the FSB and was supposed to install a GPS tracker under the snow near the CHP plant. The device was supposed to act as a «beacon» to adjust the missile strike.
Law enforcers detained the suspect red-handed at night near the fence of the energy facility when she was trying to activate the device. She was served a notice of suspicion under the article on high treason.
If proven guilty, she faces the most severe punishment provided for by law.
Context.
Russia continues its systematic attempts to damage Ukraine's energy infrastructure, in particular thermal generation facilities, which directly affects the stability of electricity supply and the operation of critical systems.
The SBU regularly reports exposing intelligence networks that transmit coordinates, adjust strikes or prepare sabotage at energy, transport and communications facilities. Such cases are investigated under martial law and are under special control of law enforcement agencies.
