Since the start of the month, the price of this pack has risen by 19.75 UAH from 64.50 UAH, or by approximately 30.6%. This figure relates to a specific branded product, not to all eggs on sale.

The price of the tracked parcel rose over the course of the month
According to the «Ministry of Finance», On 9 September, the average price of a pack of ten «Yasensvit» S1 cigarettes was 74.75 UAH; on 16 September, it was 79.25 UAH. Between 19 and 21 September, the price remained at 79.99 UAH.
The following day, the average price rose to 84.25 UAH and remained at that level as at 23 September. This trend relates only to a dozen eggs of a specific brand and category, so it cannot be taken as representative of prices for all eggs across the country.
In supermarkets, the price per ten varies considerably
The price of eggs on the shelves depends on the producer, grade, retail chain and whether there are any special offers. According to the latest survey by «Glavkom», prices for a pack of ten started at 49.90 UAH at Varus and 54.90 UAH at Auchan.
At Novus, the price was listed as from 60.59 UAH; at Silpo, from 61.59 UAH; and at ATB, from 68.50 UAH. Meanwhile, at Megamarket, «Kvochka Free Range» eggs (category C1) were on sale for 98 UAH, whilst «Kvochka Home-raised» eggs (category C0) were priced at 99.50 UAH.
A wide range does not imply that the products are of the same quality or identical: the items listed differ in terms of brand and category.
Autumn prices are influenced by seasonality and producers’ costs
The price of eggs in the autumn may be affected by seasonal fluctuations in the productivity of laying hens, as well as costs relating to feed, electricity and logistics. Disruptions to warehouse operations and supply chains may also affect prices, but their specific role in this September price rise has not been established.
The Ministry of Finance’s aggregate index for the «Eggs» group, which covers not only chicken eggs but also quail eggs, showed an increase in average prices of 17.87% as at 21 September compared with August. It should not be directly compared with the price trend for a single pack of «Yasensvit» S1, as these are different product baskets.
At present, it is too early to say exactly how much prices will rise in the coming weeks. Due to differences in offers across retail chains, the actual purchase price will depend on the brand, product category and promotional price chosen.
