The head of the Association of Frontline Cities and Communities, Igor Terekhov, called for responsibility in the development of technology. He made the statement on the anniversary of the Chornobyl accident.
Terekhov on the lessons of Chernobyl
Igor Terekhov recalled that 40 years ago, the accident at the CHNPP has changed the lives of millions of Ukrainians. According to him, the tragedy took away not only people's homes, but also their peace of mind and trust in the environment.
He emphasised the role of the liquidators - firefighters, power engineers, medics and military personnel - who saved others at the risk of their own lives. Terekhov stressed that the memory of this disaster should remain a warning to future generations.
The priority is people's safety
In his statement, Terekhov said that the lives and safety of people should be the main values for all decision-makers. He emphasised that the future of Ukraine should be built on the principle of daily care for citizens.
In his opinion, after end of war The country must not only rebuild infrastructure but also create conditions where security becomes an integral part of public life.
Responsible development of technology
Terekhov called for the development of technology with responsibility. He stressed that Ukraine should learn from past mistakes, take care of nature and not repeat the tragedies of the past.
The Head of the Association stressed that technological progress should go hand in hand with care for the environment and people. This, he said, is the key to the country's secure future.
