Ukrainian MP Ruslan Horbenko reported cases of forced deportation of Ukrainian men from the European Union. According to him, representatives of the TCC meet them at the border.
Statement by the MP
In a public comment Ruslan Gorbenko said that cases of forced deportation of Ukrainian men from Europe have already been recorded. According to him, these citizens return to the borders of Ukraine, where they are met by representatives of the Territorial Recruitment Centres (TRC).
The deputy did not specify which EU countries carry out such deportations, and did not provide detailed statistics on the number of deportees.
Reaction of Ukrainian institutions
There is currently no official reaction from the Ukrainian authorities to Horbenko's statement. There are also no reports of official requests or comments from the TCC regarding the procedure for meeting deportees at the border.
It is known that the issue of returning Ukrainian men from abroad has been repeatedly raised in society, but the facts of forced deportation are confirmed for the first time at this level.
Context of the situation
The problem of Ukrainian men travelling abroad and returning to Ukraine has been a pressing issue since the beginning of the full-scale war. European countries have not previously reported forced deportations of Ukrainian citizens of military age.
More detailed information on the mechanisms of deportation, the involvement of European structures and further actions against deportees is currently unavailable.
What we know so far
As of 18 April 2026, there is only information about the MP's statement and its discussion in the media. There are currently no other confirmed sources or official documents on the organised deportation of Ukrainian men from Europe.
