The Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill in Obukhiv, Kyiv Oblast, came under another Russian missile attack on 7 October. This is the third strike on the facility in the last six months. Damaged workshops, warehouses and equipment

Some of the equipment and utility systems were damaged. Fires broke out on the premises, and the emergency services were working to bring them under control.

Production was temporarily halted as a result of the impact. At the same time, the company emphasised that, thanks to the staff’s adherence to safety regulations, None of the staff were injured.

This is the third attack since March

This latest attack was the third to hit the company in less than seven months.

14 March 2026 The Kyiv Chemical Processing Plant was hit by a large-scale missile attack. Industrial and administrative buildings, production facilities and utility networks were damaged. No staff were injured.

Already 3 April The plant was attacked for a second time — this time with strike drones. Following the attack, the plant was forced to temporarily halt production in order to deal with the aftermath.

In the summer, company representatives reported that the impact of the attacks in March and April had been so severe that they had been unable to fully restore the damaged infrastructure within a few months.

Previous strikes have already significantly reduced production

The spring attacks had a significant impact on the plant’s operations.

Following the shelling in March and April, paper and cardboard production fell by approximately three times compared with March of the previous year, whilst the output of corrugated packaging fell by approximately 35%.

The Kyiv Pulp and Paper Combine is located in Obukhiv. The company manufactures cardboard, corrugated packaging and sanitary and hygiene paper products, and is one of the largest enterprises in the Ukrainian pulp and paper industry.

Following the previous attack, the company stated separately that its products were intended for civilian use and that the plant was not involved in military production or defence contracts.

The extent of the damage caused by the latest attack is currently being assessed. The company has not yet given a timeframe for the resumption of production.
