President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approved a 40-day special operation by the Security Service of Ukraine, aimed at increasing pressure on Russia. This decision followed a meeting with the SBU leadership, during which key aspects of the security and effectiveness of the Ukrainian forces’ operations were discussed.

Meeting with the leadership of the SBU
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyand held a working meeting with the leadership of the Security Service of Ukraine. During the meeting, the Head of State heard a report from Major General Yevheniia Khmari regarding the implementation of the Ukrainian plan long-haul operations, medium-range operations and the results of the Security Service of Ukraine’s work, in particular that of the «Alpha» Special Operations Centre on the front line.
Approval of the 40-day plan
Following the findings of the report, the President approved a 40-day operation to exert pressure on the aggressor state. According to Zelenskyy, the main aim of the operation is to increase pressure on Russia and create conditions that will prompt the aggressor to end the war. For security reasons, the details of the planned measures are not being disclosed.
Results from the «Alfa» Social Research Centre»
The President specifically highlighted the effectiveness of the «Alpha» Special Operations Centre, which has been demonstrating the best results for several months running developments on the front line thanks to the widespread use of various types of unmanned systems. According to the Head of State, the unit is one of the leaders in terms of the number of Russian occupation forces’ personnel, military equipment and other targets it has struck.
Internal security in Ukraine
The meeting also addressed current challenges in the field of Ukraine’s internal security. The President thanked the staff of the Security Service of Ukraine for carrying out their operational tasks, defending the state and ensuring the safety of Ukrainian citizens.
