Investigative journalist Anna Kalyuzhna published the response from the Main Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to a journalist’s enquiry following the publication of a report on possible unlawful orders and incidents of violence within the 225th Separate Assault Regiment.
The document states that following the publication of the article, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mikhail Drapaty instructed the Military Law Enforcement Service to carry out an internal investigation.
The letter emphasises that every issue raised by the journalist will be analysed in detail, with the facts and documents being examined.

The internal investigation was prompted by a journalistic investigation which reported on possible unlawful orders within one of the units. In particular, it referred to the alleged disarming of service personnel and the use of weapons against them in the event of a retreat.
