On the afternoon of 26 September, Russian forces attacked Sumy with guided aerial bombs. In the Kovpakivskyi district, residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were hit. According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, two people were killed and at least three were injured, including a child.

The head of the Sumy Regional State Administration reported on the consequences of the attack Oleg Grigorov. According to his account, guided aerial bombs struck residential areas and civilian infrastructure in Kovpakivsky District, Sumy. Two people were killed in the attack. At least three residents were injured, including a child.
The injured are receiving the necessary medical treatment. The full extent of the attack is still being assessed.
These buildings have already been hit by Russian strikes
Grigorov noted that some of the residential buildings that were damaged on 26 September, had already been targeted in previous Russian attacks. According to the head of the Regional State Administration, residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were hit.
The images released show damaged façades and balconies, smashed windows and debris near residential buildings.
The day before, Sumy was also attacked with aerial bombs
This is the second large-scale attack on the city by KABs in the last two days.
On 25 September, Russian troops launched an attack on Sumy two guided aerial bombs. The strikes hit two different parts of the city. Initially, three casualties were reported, but the number later rose to 12 people. Among them were three children — a 15-year-old boy, a 12-year-old girl and a one-and-a-half-month-old baby.
