The head of the National Police of Ukraine, Ivan Vygivskyi, has written a letter of resignation. The news comes amid a major scandal in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and high-profile searches of the National Police leadership, which were previously reported in the media.

For preliminary information, Ivan Vygovsky submitted his resignation from the post of the Head of the National Police of Ukraine. At the time of publication, there was no official decree or confirmation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The news comes after high-profile searches of the National Police leadership and the detention of several high-ranking officials suspected of receiving undue advantage. Earlier it was reported that law enforcement officers had conducted investigative actions against representatives of the police leadership in several regions of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, several high-ranking officials were suspected, including representatives of regional departments and people associated with the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The defendants in the case are suspected under Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - obtaining illegal benefits in particularly large amounts. It was after this that the media began to report on possible personnel decisions at the highest level of the National Police.

Who is Ivan Vygovsky?
Ivan Vygovsky has been the head of the National Police of Ukraine since 2023. Prior to that, he was the head of the Kyiv police and held various positions within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
