Zelenskyy accused Russia of showing blatant disrespect towards the US
The President of Ukraine specifically drew attention to the fact that the large-scale a blow to the energy sector took place following the statement Donald Trump on the agreement to cease attacks on energy infrastructure.
Zelenskyy described the Russian shelling as a deliberate breach of the proposed de-escalation and a sign of disrespect towards the US administration. According to the Ukrainian president, The Kremlin has shown its unwillingness to honour the agreements, as claimed by Washington.
Trump had previously announced that energy truce between Ukraine and Russia. However, the existence of an agreement that had been agreed by both sides and was currently in force has not been confirmed. Following a large-scale shelling, Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to the US President to step up economic pressure on Moscow. The Head of State referred to the sanctions bill Lindsay Graham, which Donald Trump signed on 18 September 2026.

Zelenskyy has requested additional missiles for the Patriot system
Another demand made by the Ukrainian president was the urgent strengthening of Ukraine’s missile defence. Zelenskyy called on the United States to supply additional batches of interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defence systems.
The need for such missiles has increased significantly against the backdrop of Russia’s widespread use of ballistic weapons.
The President emphasised that Ukraine needs assistance from the US, Europe and other partners to protect the civilian population and its energy infrastructure. In his view, the war can only be brought to an end if sufficient international pressure is brought to bear on Russia.
