Tusk warned of a threat to border crossings with Ukraine
Speaking at a press conference in Bratislava, the Polish Prime Minister stated that joint action by the Polish security services and their Ukrainian counterparts had made it possible to avert an immediate threat to one of the border crossings between Poland and Ukraine.
According to him, Russia has already been carrying out provocative attacks at border crossings, particularly in Moldova. On this basis Tusk stated that he expected similar measures to be taken regarding border crossings between Poland and Ukraine.
Poland is preparing for various scenarios
On the same day, the Polish Prime Minister announced that he had received «a fairly accurate report directly from the CIA» regarding possible developments in the coming months. According to Tuska, the information from US intelligence is consistent with his earlier warnings about the need to be prepared.
Poland and other European countries, he stressed, must prepare for various scenarios both on the Russian-Ukrainian front and along the EU’s eastern flank.
On Wednesday night, following an enemy drone attack, operations at the «Starokozache» border crossing on the border with Moldova were suspended. Two deaths were also reported at the time. The Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gar Stere stated that, that same evening, there had been a drone threat to the Ukrainian President’s aircraft Vladimir Zelensky, which was due to fly from Chisinau to Oslo.
