Today, 5 July, an explosion occurred in the Podilskyi district of the Odesa region, injuring two police officers. The incident took place whilst a moped rider was being stopped for a breach of the Highway Code. Whilst checking his documents, the police discovered that the 52-year-old man was NWF.
Upon realising that his documents were not in order, the moped rider produced a grenade and began threatening to use it. Moments later, an explosion rang out, injuring not only the offender but also two police officers who were carrying out their duties.
An investigative team from the local police force is working at the scene. Once all the circumstances of the incident have been established, it will be given the appropriate legal classification.
